KULGAM:A police party headed by IC PP Mirbazar noticed a person carrying a nylon bag and moving in suspicious circumstances during patrolling at Furrah near railway bridge. He tried to flee from the spot after noticing police party. However, he was chased and tactfully apprehended. During search of the said bag, officers present were able to recover 40 grams of Charas and 2.2 KGs of Poppy Straw like contraband substances. During preliminary investigation, he disclosed his identity as; Rizwan Ahmad Bhat son of Mohd Ayoub Bhat a resident of Furrah.
Regarding the incident, a case vide FIR No. 50/2024 U/S 8/15, 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been taken up.
Public is requested to come forward or Dial-112 with any information regarding anti-social activity in their vicinity, so that timely action against the culprit will be taken.
