ANANTNAG:District Police Anantnag continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the Menace of Drugs from the society, arrests two more Drug Peddlers and recovered narcotic substances from their possession.
Police party from Police Station Bijbehara laid down a naka at jablipora Bijbehara and apprehended one person namely Mohd Shafi Dar S/O Gh Mohd Dar R/O Tulkhan Bijbehara and recovered about 780 Grams of Charas Powder and Cash Rs 37740 from his possession. Accused was arrested and contraband seized.
Moreover another Police Party from Police Post Sangam laid down a Naka at Panchpora Astan Pora crossing and intercepted one vehicle bearing registration number JK03A-7906. During checking about 07 Kgs of Poppy Straw like substance was recovered from the said vehicle. Driver of the Vehicle identified as Shakir Ahmad Ganie S/O Gulzar Ahmad Ganie R/O T.M Shah Bijbehara was arrested and contraband as well as vehicle used for the commission of crime seized.
In this regard Cases under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands Registered at Police Station Bijbehara and investigation taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding Drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in Drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against Drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of Drug Menace.
