An information received through reliable source at Police Station Chassana about the illegal cultivation of crop of poppy plants in village Channa Neosi Tehsil Chassana without any permission. On this information, a Police team led by SHO P/S Chassana conducted a raid at Village Channa Neosi Tehsil Chassana. The Police team was also accompanied by the officers Civil Administration, Naib Tehsildar Chassana and Patwari of the said area. During the raid it was established that poppy plants are cultivated in field of Abdul Jabbar Malik S/O Ghulam Mohd R/O Channa Neosi Teh Chassana. During the course of action, the team has seized poppy plants and after obtaining some samples and completing codal formalities, the illegal crop of poppy plants was destroyed on spot by order of accompanied Magistrate (Naib Tehsildar). 

In this connection, a case FIR No. 31/2024 U/S 8/18 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Chassana and investigation initiated.

𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦  𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 conveyed that Reasi Police will leave no stone unturned to curb the menace of drug abuse and illicit liquor smuggling in District Reasi. SSP further appealed that people should come forward to strengthen the hands of Police to eradicate this menace from society.
