Traffic police launches drive against violators in Jammu

Traffic Police Rural Jammu in a bid to implement the work on Road Safety Policy cracked down on the traffic violators. A special Drives was organized by Traffic Police Rural Jammu under the supervision of Shaheen Wahid, Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural Jammu against violation of traffic rules to ensure strict enforcement.

A large number of vehicles were challaned and seized during the Special Drive in the first fortnight of this month conducted by Traffic Police Rural Jammu. A total number of 4442 vehicles were challaned and 140 vehicles were seized. Out of the total of 4442 vehicles, 435 vehicles were booked against overloading, 751 vehicles against Non wearing of Crash Helmets,522 vehicles against Non wearing of seats belts, 501 vehicles against without driving license, 26 vehicles against use of mobile phone while driving, 128 vehicles against over speeding, 135 vehicles against pressure horns, 134 against commercial vehicles fitted with tape recorders etc. Traffic Police has also counseled the violators before imposition of fine.

Shaheen has asked the people to follow the traffic rules for their own safety. She said that the society as a whole has to participate in this process and to take responsibility. She further said that enforcement drive will get more stringent in coming days.
