Sopore:Sopore Police have arrested 05 gamblers and recovered stake money and playing cards from their possession.
Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities at Ambarpora Tarzoo Nambal, a police party headed by SHO PS Tarzoo Insp. Khalid Aslam under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS raided the specific spot and apprehended 05 gamblers & recovered stake money of ₹19000/- & playing cards from their possession.
They have been identified as:
1. Firdous Ahmad Dar S/O Bashir Ahmad R/O Shair Colony A Sopore
2. Shafat Ahmad Hajam S/O Mohammad Shafi Hajam R/O Ningli Sopore
3. Shabir Ahmad Dar S/O Ghulam Mohammad Dar R/O Shair A Colony Sopore
4. Ishaq Ahmad Dar S/O Ghulam Nabi Dar R/O Ningli Sopore
5. Aashiq Hussain Malla S/O Abdul Majeed Malla R/O Haritar Sopore.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 22/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Tarzoo and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be strictly dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
