Rajyavardhan Rathore announces sports tie-up with Japan

New Delhi:To uplift the sports culture in the country, Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore announced a sports tie-up between Lakshmi Bai University of Physical Education and a Japanese university on Saturday.
Speaking at the Japan-India sports exchange programme, Rathore said, "Talks with Japan about the growth of sports in India is on. Lakshmi Bai University of Physical Education is now partnering with a university in Japan to promote sports."
Japan is way ahead of India in terms of sports and will also host the Olympics in 2020.
Commenting on Japan's sports culture, Rathore, on the sidelines of the event, said, "It is very important for us to gain technical knowledge from every place available in order to enhance our performance. The country which hosts the Olympics, steps forward to share that technical knowledge with other countries."
He added, "Will take forward our physical education programme with the partnership of Japan."
Rathore informed that the players from Japan, including Olympic medallists Masashi Nishiyama and Misato Nakamuro, have come to the country to organise judo events.
He notified that the players had conducted judo classes here and in Ahmedabad as well.
Meanwhile, the Japanese Ambassador to India, Kenji Hiramatsu, who was also present at the event, appreciated the sports tie-up and events conducted by the two countries.
