Srinagar:
The residents of Kaloosa on Tuesday blocked Bandipora-Sopore highway to protest slapping of public safety act (PSA) against the five youth arrested earlier.

The locals of Ganie Mohalla accompanied by the families of the five detained youth, assembled at Kaloosa and staged a protest against the slapping of PSA on the youth, witnesses told Kashmir Reader. The protesters blocked Bandipora-Sopore highway demanding revocation of the PSA on youth.

Last week, District magistrate booked five youth under PSA from Kaloosa, Nusu and Hajin villages of the district. The youth, three from Kaloosa and one each from Hajin and Nussu were sent to Jammu jail.

Four families on Monday also held a sit-in protest at mini-secretariat here alleging police of framing their children on false charges of stone pelting.
