The closing ceremony of the 2nd All India Inter-University Rollball (M&W) Tournament 2017-18 was today organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education at the University Sports Stadium.
Men Section:
The University of Jammu Rollball (M) team won the 2nd All India Inter-University Rollball (M) Tournament 2017-18 by beating the Bharti Vidhyapeeth Deemed University, Pune by 9-4 goals in the final match. Sh. Dilpreet Singh scored four goals while Hiteshwar Singh & Amritpal Singh contributed two goals each for the Jammu University team.
The third position goes to the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur who defeated the Anna University Chennai by 7-4 goals to score the third position.
Women Section:
The Bharti Vidhyapeeth Deemed University, Pune outplayed Punjab University Chandigarh in the final match by 5-0 goals in a one sided contest and won the 2nd All India Inter-University Rollball (W) Tournament 2017-18. Anjali Nair scored four goals for the Bharti Vidhyapeeth Deemed University.
The third position was won by the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur by defeated University of Jammu by 3-1 goals in a close contested match.
Choudhary Zulfkar Ali, Minister for Department of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs & Tribal Affairs, J&K Government was the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony. In his address, the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the University authorities for organizing such a mega Sports event and further said that the University of Jammu is doing well in all the areas including the Sports.
The Chief Guest also awarded the trophies and medals to the winning team players in the presence of MLC Surinder Choudhary.
Prof. R.D Sharma, Vice-Chancellor University of Jammu also addressed the gathering/participants and advised the students to participate in Sports for their overall development.
The welcome address and report of the tournament was presented by Prof. Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Organizing Secretary & Director Sports.
The vote of thanks was presented was Sh. Vikas Karlopia.
Prof. Jigar Mohd., DRS, Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar, Prof. Satya Pal, Prof. Parmeshwari Sharma,I/c GZSA, Dr.Neeraj Sharma, S.S to V.C, Dr. Dharminder Magotra , JR (F) & Manager JU Rollball (M) Team & Sh. Pawan Singh Bhau, President JUNTEU were also present on the occasion.
