Prof. R.D. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu today congratulated Dr. Richa Gupta, PhD awardee, Deptt. of Psychology, JU who has been selected for APA Achievement Award for Early Career Psychologists by American Psychological Association (APA), USA to be presented at San Francisco, California during APA Annual Convention on 10thAugust, 2018.

Dr. Richa Gupta completed her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Arti Bakhshi, Head, Department of Psychology, JU in 2017. It is a matter of honour and pride that she is the first Indian resident who has been selected for such prestigious award by APA. She has been selected for the award based on her achievements and contributions in the field of psychology at an early career stage.

This award is presented to individuals who have shown themselves to be rising stars, with great leadership under their belts and tremendous promise to change psychology for the better. Dr. Richa  has one Young Scientist Award and three Best paper awards to her credit received at national and international conferences during 2015-2018. She has also been recipient of Travel grant by APS, USA to present a paper at Vienna and senior research fellowship from UGC, India. Dr. Richa has also received  gold medal in recognition for securing first position in M.A. Psychology (2010) from University of Jammu.
