Jammu :A strong delegation comprising dozens of youth from Jammu Kashmir under the leadership of Daksheesh Sharma State Vice President Jammu Joint Students Federation called on G. Krishan Reddy minister of state for home affairs in government of India regarding the genuine issues being face by the youth of Jammu & Kashmir after the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir. The said meeting was coordinated by Imran Bukhari.
During the meeting Daksheesh Sharma (State Vice President) apprised the minister regarding the following core genuine issues of youth of Jammu and Kashmir:-
1. Domicile for Residents of JK: After the State Re-organization into Union Territory of J&K, the permanent Resident Certificate earlier issued, which was sine-qua-non for seeking appointment in Govt. sector has become redundant. Youth of J&K have completed their education under shadow of terrorism and cross border firing always. They have not enough resources as in other parts of India thus cannot compete with rest of India in current scenario. Therefore, it is prayed that the provision for domicile in favor of the residents of J&K be kindly made by enacting appropriate legislation. This way.
2. Revocation of SRO 202: Daksheesh termed SRO 202 issued by J&K government as discriminatory law as under this only basic salary is paid to an employee for five years. No other allowance including dearness allowance, HRA etc is paid top them. He termed this against the right to equality which also means equal pay for equal work in other words. He prayed to the minister to revoke this Anti Youth law as soon as possible.
3. Age relaxation of 5years in UPSC: 5years of age relaxation was given to the youth of J&K in UPSC earlier. This relaxation was given considering geographical, economical, educational and social status of JK. Now this relaxation has taken off. Similar should be restored again which will be overwhelmingly welcomed by the youth of JK.
Minister gave a very patient hearing to the JJSF delegation representing the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. He discussed the each issue in detail with the delegation and assured them that all their genuine issues will be resolved soon.
The others who were the part of delegation are: - Shubham Sharma, Verinder Dev Singh, Farooq Ahmed Khan (Ramban), Akshit Baru, Tariq Ahmed (Poonch), Sonali Sharma, Harpreet Kour, Dr Rajeev Sharma, Rajan Singh, Wahid khan (Kashmir).
