DDC Hears Public Issues and Demands at Village Makote

In continuation of massive outreach programme initiated by the district administration a public meeting was convened by the District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary in border village of Makote to hear the public grievances and demands.
Dr. Shahid was accompanied by ACD Noor Alam, CEO RDA Dr. Tahir Firdous, ExEn Munshi Khan, Sadeeq Wani, Sunil Koul and Nisar Khan, DSWO Dr Abdul Khabir, Dy Registrar cooperatives Waqar Talib, ALC Rabia Mir, Chief Horticulture Officer Mohd Younus, BDO Abid Hussain and other senior officers of the administration.
People from Makote, Tunditrar, Banni, Dherra, Katarmal, Kakora, Kurliyan Tudwaal, Thandi Kassi, Mubarakpura and other adjoining areas participated in the meeting and apprised about the developmental issues of the border villages. Issues ranging from construction of roads and link roads, provision of drinking water, electrification of left out villages and up-gradation of schools to repair of irrigation canals to inclusion of villages under Reserved Backward Area and Actual Line of Control were raised in the meeting.
People demanded construction of artificial lake near Tourism Park, community hall at Shivparivar cave to facilitate devotes, Veterinary Center at Tunditrar, hand pumps in schools, electric poles in Linganaar, residential school at panjgaraien, dug well at Makote and 63kv transformer at Kurliyan upper.
The concerned officers responded to the issues raised by the public and informed them about latest status of various development projects in the area.
Speaking on the occasion the DDC said that comprehensive plan has been finalized for augmentation of power supply in border areas and water supply projects are also initiated for coverage of all hamlets. He added that many community driven projects such as bunkers and community shelters, individual bunkers and community halls are undertaken by the government to facilitate the population during ceasefire violation and social functions.
He laid major stress on the development of Shiv Gufa with better road connectivity and construction of community hall near the cave to promote religious tourism in area. He also added that  many important roads are taken under BADP and tractor roads under MGNREGA. He further added that administration has provided more than 70000 revenue and medical services at the doorstep of the people by organizing camps under PSGA.
