Clashes erupted in Redwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday following a cordon and search operation launched by the government forces.

Reports said that the youth took to streets and pelted the forces with stones as they were laying a siege to the area.

The forces responded by firing teargas to disperse the protesters.

An official said the operation was launched in the area following inputs about the presence of militants.
