Rajouri:With the aim to promote skill development and self-employment in remote areas of Rajouri district, army commenced “Training on Mushroom Farming” for 10 farmers of Rajouri District from 19 September to 22 October.
This endeavour will help the local farmers hailing from the remote areas of Rajouri district and to get to know about the concept, practice and potential of mushroom farming.
The training will help them in attaining requisite basic knowledge of mushroom farming and the youth of the families can take it up as a self - sustaining family business which generates regular income.
The project of Mushroom farming is being org with the assistance of Krishi Vigyan Kendra of Sher e Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Jammu at Manjakote with its staff rendering assistance in training, setup, inspection and cultivation of mushrooms.
Subsequently, army and local administration will also help the trained farmers to market and sell their produce at local and outside markets.
Prominent opinion makers of the area are very appreciative of this step of Indian army to provide more self-sustenance job opportunities in the region.
