Jammu:A guest lecture on BBC World Service and Broadcast journalism, was organised at Gandhi Memorial Degree College, Jammu by Department of journalism on Wednesday in the conference hall of college premises.
On the occasion Mr. Peerzada Abdal Mehjoor an Ace Broadcaster of BBC and Radio Kashmir Srinagar was the chief guest who explained the various aspects of Radio journalism from community to Public service and then global broadcasting as well. Mr Abdal shared his experience of the broadcasting at different positions in BBC Hindi BBC URDU and Radio Kashmir Srinagar with students
During the special lecture Mr. Abdal addressing students to focus on standard language( tones accents, IPS ) verbally and non verbally and moreover discusses contemporary issues , public service broadcasting , Global broadcasting BBC ethical issues in radio journalism etc.He stressed on students to focus on the language of their choice to make it easy for them in later stages of their career
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Principal GMCE and formal vote of thanks was also presented by Mahraj Krishan Shah, Head of Department, and journalism of the College. Among others present on the occasion were Lecturer Amit Gupta, Lecturer Meenakshi , Lecturer Seema Matoo and journalism students from various batches.
