Bhaderwah Campus Organized Ehsaas : Ek Din Buzargon ke Saath | Education

Jammu:The Bhaderwah Campus of the University of Jammu organized a unique event which is perhaps first of its kind in entire Country. The event is organized to propagate the message of belongingness to golden agers of the entire Bhaderwah region. This remarkable idea was conceived by the Rector Bhaderwah campus Prof. G M Bhat during his visit to the Nubra Valley in Ladakh related to an international project. Consequently the golden agers of the Bhaderwah town were approached and invited for the cause to make them feel as important component of the society. About 60 senior citizens of the Bhaderwah town attended the function and they are engaged for full day in the campus premises.
The senior citizens were welcomed enthusiastically by the students and staff of the Bhaderwah Campus in a unique way and they are taken to the venue by the beating drums and clapping by the students of little angel school. While proceeding towards the venue they are also introduced to the concept of joint family system through rangoli drawn by students of English department. During inaugural speech the Rector Bhaderwah Campus Prof. G M Bhat respectfully welcomed all the golden agers and urged them to share their life time experiences and inculcate them into the entire faculty and students of the Bhaderwah Campus. Prof. Bhat requested the golden agers to act as professor for the full day and make us learn the basics of different aspects of life. The ADC Bhaderwah lauded the efforts of the Rector Bhaderwah Campus and praises his whole hearted effort in achieving it. Students of the little angel, English and B.ed presented memorable cultural items to remind the golden agers of their olden days. For the rest of day a mock joint family system was created by the campus and each senior citizen was adopted by the single family consisting of the male and female students of the campus. A due care was given to all the golden agers by their respective families and their life time experiences were shared among them followed by serving of lunch to them. The students and staff of the Bhaderwah campus remained full day engaged with them and make them felt that they are still the important component of the society and their efforts and contribution in building this society cannot be forget by all the generations to come.
During valedictory the golden agers were given with a token of love from the Bhaderwah Campus and they are requested to share their individual experiences to inspire the young generations about achieving their goal and contributing this society in an a more effective and efficient manner. All the attendees (Golden Agers) pay their sincere thanks to the faculty, students and especially to Prof. G M Bhat rector of the Bhaderwah Campus for devoting a full day for this cause and make them feel special and important component of the society. The entire proceedings were conducted by Ms. Poonam Manhas and Ms. Sana Anjum of the English department.
